[Letter] 2/3
I think we can both agree that we need to stop dwelling on the past. I'm not saying forget it! I couldn't if I tried. But it's causing us both considerable pain when we try to talk. It's possible to remember what happened, without bringing it up every time.
You asked me sometime back if I wanted to stay away still. To give you the straightest answer possible, no. I don't want to stay away. I do want to understand you, maybe more than you want to understand me. If possible...I would like to try being friends.
I want you to come with me when I get my second crystal. When your first crystal fills up you will need to take the journey to where I need to go. As we've all said, without the crystal to protect you this dying world will drain you dry. It would be good to come see what you need to do.
Komaeda Nagito.
1/2 [not here]
It's spiraling into something he hates and he really doesn't want to dig it up again.
Thankfully he doesn't run into Enoshima while he's like this, because otherwise he would snap.
Nobody will see this except for him. ]

He took several tries writing this to the point of exhaustion. If one were to look at his room, they'd find crumpled up letters... until he came up with this version. ]
Dear Komaeda,
You should know as much as I do that I would never forget. I don't think that we should. I'm already tired of forgetting everything. That's why I said what I did. I still plan on finding a way out of here, finding a way to regain all my memories. I want to understand why we were brought here in the form of our avatars instead of our real bodies, too, but that isn't what's important right now.
I'm tired of fighting, so let's just let it go for now. I can move past it if you're willing to as well. If you want to understand me, then I don't mind that, either. I'll put time aside for you whenever you need it. It's the least I can do. While I can't just simply ditch work in the mornings, I'm usually free in the evenings after that.
Just name the time and place.

Komaeda's handwriting is distinctive. It's precise, and aristocratic. It's the kind of writing you'd expect from a handwritten business letter.]
Dear Hinata,
From what research I and several others are doing, we understand we're taken from high points of emotion. It makes sense in a fashion, this world lives because of emotions. The Arehtei don't know how we arrive here. I could scribe out a copy of my notes, if you'd like.
I thought late afternoon in two days would be good. It gives us both time to prepare.
We'll be going to the temple ruins, specifically to the lake beneath it. You'll want to dress warmer than usual. Places with lakes tend to be colder just due to their proximity to water. If this is a time that works for you, please let me know.
Our meeting place will be in front of the blacksmith shop. I need to pick something up from there.

I'd appreciate it, actually. I'm assuming it's something similar to when you're taken home and brought back as well? [ That's a weird thing to think about, but it's also an interesting. ] It might be a problem if any of our other classmates show up. Especially Tsumiki.
[ BECAUSE TSUMIKI???? HIGH EMOTION??? That sounds like a bad idea. ]
But that's just something that we'll have to keep in mind just in case something happens. I'll make sure to buy some new clothes for the colder weather, though. That time and place works perfectly, though. Will it just be the two of us?

You're right about possible problems. Especially with Junko here. She is like a vulture and any moment of weakness is something she can exploit to her full advantage. Tsumiki remembered being Ultimate Despair in the end. Mukuro was seeking her own path, so it wasn't such a problem when Junko's sister was here. Tsumiki would essentially be a full Remnant of Despair if she came from that moment.
But, despite that. It is very possible being aligned to an Arehtei and the influence of others could turn her away from that. Just as the Arehtei can be brought out of the dark, so can people.
Anyway, that's correct. Originally I came from just after clearing the Final Dead Room and had been about to open the file. Monokuma had something strange. [This is a polite letter, and he isn't about to admit what he'd been thinking of as he grasped the file.] When I came back here a second time it was seconds before my death.
I was thinking just the two of us. Unless you'd feel more comfortable with someone else coming with us. It isn't a particularly dangerous place.

That's exactly what I'm worried about, really. That moment precisely is one of Tsumiki's "highest moments" in Jabberwock; while I don't know if anybody would show up from before that time, if it's possible, we just have to be careful what we say in case it triggers something. It's possible that if what I've been hearing is true and people can come from different moments in time.
Also, Enoshima had a sister? I didn't know about that. [ That's interesting to know. ] Is it possible to predict what Arehtei our classmates could be brought from, by the way? I definitely don't want Tsumiki to be like that again if she shows up, wrapped in Enoshima's brainwashing. And I'll make sure to protect her as well. Or any of our classmates that show up.
Something strange? Was it in Monokuma's demeanor or was it something else entirely different? I won't ask for details if you don't want to bring it up, but... if it's about Monokuma, it might be important to know. Also, speaking about that, you said that anyone with emotions could show up, right? Which means Nanami could show up. But here's the problem. If that's the case, then... couldn't it be possible for Enoshima's AI to show up as well? I didn't want to think about it so I left it alone, but you can't deny the possibility being there. I actually don't want it to happen [ because it reminds him that it's his fault ] but if it does in the future, we'll have to take precaution. Of course, I'd prefer discussing more about this matter and other things in regards to our home world in person. I'm not trying to dig up the past again this time, it's more that I want to figure out a plan of how to deal with Enoshima and what to do if she tries anything.
I guess you can say I want to team up with you? Although we might want to add Kirigiri into our discussions about this.
I don't mind either way, really. If it's just the two of us, we can just... talk, if it's not dangerous. It shouldn't be a problem.

You don't need to reassure me of your intentions, I understand what you're thinking about. I agree. We need to talk to Kirigiri about it. She knows what I am. I told her. She has very little issue with it and thanked me for my honesty. You're also correct that we can come from different points in time. Mukuro herself came from a timeline where her sister hadn't murdered her for her School Life of Mutual Killing game.
I don't think it's possible to perdict which Arehtei our classmates will be aligned to. However, that doesn't mean we can't guess. As I did with you. ...there are cases of two of the same person here. Millia-san and her other self. Silver and his other self. It is possible, but the more likely scenario...
I would suggest you sit down while reading this part.
The more likely scenario, Hinata, would be for Kamukura to appear. You two are as different as night and day, but similar enough that you connect on a base level. As they do. I've met both Silvers and they resonate somewhat. I forgot that apathetic people can find their way here. I predict if he were to arrive he'd be connected to Simpathis - Sympathy and Apathy. Or to Sosyne, Calm and Anger.
As for what Monokuma told me, if you can recall. The Final Dead Room was a test to allow one to play Russian Roulette. What I didn't tell you before is the player is held liable for setting the difficulty. I had to go get the memory from the tree to transcribe what he said to me.
[Written in green ink is the following words.]
'Well, I just thought it was ironic... Out of everyone here, someone like you obtained the Hope's Peak Academy's student profiles... I'm not sure if you're lucky or unlucky... But...looks like things are gonna get interesting...
Yes, Komaeda! You might be the one who makes things much more interesting!'
[The ink returns to normal after this.]
I suspect a few things, after having dealt with Enoshima in person for months, but I do like to hear an outside perspective. Speaking of her, I think she'll be far busier making matters in this world worse than with our classmates until they arrive.
...what I plan to pick up before we go is a means of defense in case things do get dangerous. This world isn't peaceful, at least, sometimes one has to fight to survive. But I don't think I'll need. Still, just in case protective gear that are also weapons for my hands, suits the style of fighting my teacher has been teaching me.
Speaking of fighting, did you find the teachers you needed? There is a group that practices Dunamis in classes, they're lead by Kor.

I can't exactly say that I completely agree with Kamukura appearing here physically. At least, not as a separate entity. Even though I still don't remember everything from that time, the truth is that the memories that were supposedly erased by the program weren't exactly... erased. Not for me. I suppressed them by my own hand.
The proof is that I forced myself to forget that I was in the Reserve Course to begin with, although I had dreams that spoke about it. I wanted to deny that fact. Also, while I was in the program, I was the only one - as far as I know - that recalled things from the real world while I was in it.
This world is the same. I've been remembering things about my life as Kamukura Izuru, too. Some of it is still blurred out, but I remember vague things. Like the killing life on the islands wasn't the first one I'd participated in. [ Ah, yes, what fun it is to remember that. ]
But if parallel worlds exist, it might be possible for him to show up -- yet I don't know. I can't be 100% sure. We might have to do a little research on that.
[ Because he needs to know this information, it's important. ]
In any case, we need to figure out a way to deal with Enoshima. I don't want her to destroy this world just like she tried to destroy ours. But I'm assuming that what Monokuma was referring to must have been the information in regards to us being Ultimate Despairs.
I'm no psychiatrist, but I can assume that "someone like you" was definitely referring to the idea that you hated despair more than anything else; seeing that file would definitely harm you more than anyone else. But that's just my assumption. Unless you had any other ideas, in regards to that.
I have a shinai on me, in case we need it. I'm not good at using it, but it's something. I'll learn. Or remember. Whichever comes first. I did find the teachers though.

My idea relies on my accounts of Junko here. I don't think that room was designed to destroy a specific member, but she likely assumed I would clear it. Whether I pursued who got the file or not, didn't matter. She just wanted to see what would happen among us.
We're not the only ones battling her. The Enforcers here keep an eye on her. Most of us do. Originally Mukuro was their source of information on her. All that's left is us, and Kirigiri to provide that now.
This aside, I suspected as much about your memories. I believe I told you the memory tree reveals lost memories as well? I've recovered some of my own. Part of my time as, 'Servant'. I didn't keep the petals, but I do keep ones of memories relevant to my research and investigation.
Which leads me to one last thing. Your arrival sped it up, but I've been looking into Piphron. As Arehtei go, he's too old. Being corrupted is keeping him alive, and he will likely die if restored. Thras doesn't know what will happen if he does. Or what will happen to his aligned.
This is all I have right now. But I'll keep looking.

To be honest, while that file would have probably devastated any one of us if we saw it, the ones who would be the most affected by it would be either myself or you. If Enoshima's goal was to create conflict and despair amongst us, wouldn't she give it to someone who would inflict the most?
I think she probably thought that you were one of the more "interesting" choices though, honestly... but it's possible that she might have been saying that for another reason, too. For someone else to have fun. [ It isn't as if he doesn't remember what he was told... to have fun in that world..... Ha. Hahaha. ]
Corrupted in what way, though? [ DOES HE HAVE TO WORRY. He's pretty sure he has to. ]

I forgot how little you know about this world at present. I believe I mentioned the Calamity to you before. Thras also referred to what caused this world to nearly die as an 'emotional disturbance'. Arehtei have two sides to their aspects. For example, Peromei is both Hope and Despair. They can't help which side they're on but in the distant past something happened to throw them deeply into the darker side.
When an emotion peaks among us it calls one of the still 'corrupted' by their darker side Arehtei to us. We undergo a challenge of sorts to restore that Arehtei or minimize the damage they cause while unable to control themselves. Piphron is one of those still left out there and as I said. Arehtei have finite lives and the next Arehtei of that aspect is born to take their place.
Usually.
Right now with the world as it is. There's no telling what will happen. The influence of a corrupted Arehtei can be devastating. You can be influenced without knowing it. Those aligned to Sosyne. Some of them raged out of control when she came. I've seen the memory of what Piphron did to those who betrayed him.
That's one of the reasons I urged you to discover and master Dunamis. You need to be able to resist his influence. I can help to some degree. But I won't be directly in the spirit's path. You will be.

I'll try my best to not get influenced. If it happens, you'll stop me before anything happens, won't you? [ Is this trust? He's not sure. ] You know as well as I do that I don't want to hurt or kill anyone. Nor do I want to side with Enoshima ever again.
It might take me a while to master Dunamis, however, considering that it's me. But what kind of challenge are we talking about here?

Could he...
Komaeda glances to the box sitting on his work desk containing the completed crystal as he runs back over his plans. It had been since the start Sosyne's attack on the city that he'd been building this plan but...
He scrubs at his face. The plan hinged on talking to the Arehtei. Finding out exactly what they might be able to tell him about Piphron and the nature of being emotional magics.]
2/2
The challenges each Arehtei presents are specific to their nature and personality. It was a dark maze of despair for Peromei. Thras gave us one based around bravery and facing challenges we weren't used to facing. Sosyne just fought against us.
...
I will stop you. But, without killing you or if I can help it, dying myself. Still, even a basic understanding of the energy your emotions release will give you a fighting chance to resist the tempering. At least, in theory. So the first line of defense, is in your hands.

Piphron was trust and distrust, wasn't it? I'm assuming that it probably has to do something with that. If I'm assuming correctly, what will most likely happen is that I might get paranoid and not trust anybody at all. Perhaps I'll end up thinking that everyone's out to get me.
[ It's a possibility that he's been thinking about for a while, one that he doesn't really like. ]
Nevertheless, I plan on trying my best so that doesn't happen.

You're absolutely right! Piphron's distrust of everything is the only thing keeping him alive. If you want to get a feel of whom you're connected to, I can introduce you to Sanae. She has organized rituals to send positive feelings to the Arehtei using an Aligned as the pillar for each one.
I need to talk to her about Piphron and his agee, so we'd be dealing with two issues at once.

Yes, that's why I need to talk to her. First, I need a new crystal. There's a window of two weeks before it becomes a dire emergency. But there's no telling what's going to happen in that time.
